Ratings Methodology

All ratings are set from my experience on the day that I visited and may not be indicative of your visit. I try and be as factual as possible but sometimes do make mistakes in judgement.

Every rating on this site is my personal opinion and not meant to encourage of discourage you from trying each venue for yourself.

My ratings are done in these areas:

Food

How good was the food, Was the quality, taste and presentation up to the expected standards? This varies for each venue. A 3-star hated restaurant will obviously be judged more harshly then a mum-and-dad hole-in-the-wall stall.

Drinks

How good was the range and selection of drinks available? This varies depending on the venue. A dedicated wine merchant would be expected to have a greater range then a suburban fast food joint so they are not marked on the same scale.

Service

Was the service to the level expected of that venue? Cheap place? Service isn’t expected to be fine dining!

Ambiance

This one is purely subjective and may not match your experiences. This comes down to how comfortable we feel where we are.

Value

Was this value for money? It doesn’t matter how cheap or expensive it all is – can you walk out feeling happy about what you get for what you pay?

Overall

This is our overall rating for the venue. This may (or mostly may not) be related to the other ratings, but instead is our idea of how much we enjoyed every aspect of the visit.

If you have ay questions about how I determine my ratings, check the FAQs or contact me.
