Our Commitment to Independent Reviews
The purpose of this website is to provide honest, independent reviews based on my personal experiences.
Every review published on this site is written by me and reflects my genuine opinion of the venue, product, service, or experience at the time of my visit. Ratings, recommendations, and review content are based solely on my own experiences and are not influenced by businesses, advertisers, public relations representatives, or any other third party.
How Reviews Are Funded
In almost all cases, I pay the same price as any member of the public for all food, drinks, products, services, tickets, and experiences that I review.
This includes the costs incurred by any members of my dining or travel group where relevant to the review.
Businesses cannot pay to receive a review, improve a rating, secure favourable coverage, or influence the content of a review in any way.
Invitations and Hosted Visits
From time to time, I may accept invitations from venues, tourism operators, event organisers, or other businesses to visit a location, attend an event, or experience a service.
Accepting an invitation does not guarantee a review, positive coverage, or any particular rating.
Where a review is based on an invited or hosted visit, this will be clearly disclosed within the review.
The same editorial standards apply to invited visits as they do to any self-funded visit. All opinions, observations, ratings, and conclusions remain entirely my own.
Complimentary Items
As a general rule, I do not accept complimentary meals, products, or services for review purposes.
However, it is not uncommon for hospitality venues to occasionally provide a complimentary item during a visit, such as:
- A small tasting item
- A dessert
- A drink
- An amuse-bouche or similar chef-selected offering
Where a complimentary item is provided and is relevant to the review, it will be disclosed within the review.
Receiving a complimentary item does not influence the rating, recommendation, or editorial content of a review.
No Paid Reviews
Reviews on this site are not for sale.
Businesses cannot:
- Pay to receive a review
- Pay to improve a rating
- Pay to remove a review
- Pay to alter review content
- Pay to influence rankings or recommendations
Any request to do so will be declined.
No Sponsored Content
This website does not publish sponsored reviews, sponsored articles, paid endorsements, advertorials, or guest posts from businesses.
All editorial content is independently researched, written, and published by me.
No Paid Listings
Venues, attractions, restaurants, cafes, hotels, products, and services cannot pay to be included on this website.
Inclusion is determined solely by whether I have visited, experienced, or chosen to feature a venue or business.
No Affiliate Relationships
This website does not use affiliate links.
I do not receive commissions, referral fees, or other compensation when readers visit businesses, make bookings, purchase products, or use services that may be mentioned on this website.
Review Updates and Revisited Venues
Businesses change over time. Management, staff, menus, service standards, pricing, and overall quality can all evolve.
For this reason, I may revisit venues and update reviews where appropriate.
When a venue has been revisited or a review has been updated, this will be noted within the review so readers can understand the context and timing of the updated assessment.
Accuracy and Fairness
All reviews represent my honest opinion based on the information available and the experience I had at the time of publication.
Experiences can vary between visits and between customers. A review should be considered one person’s assessment and not a guarantee that every visitor will have the same experience.
Where factual errors are identified, reasonable efforts will be made to correct them.
International Reviews
While this website is operated from Australia, reviews may cover destinations, venues, attractions, products, and services from anywhere in the world.
Regardless of location, the same standards of independence, transparency, and disclosure apply to every review published on this website.
